Automation
SEEK application automation
Automates steps in SEEK job searches and applications, integrating OpenAI to draft cover letters from a CV and job description. The README acknowledges adapting a third-party bot's (AIHawk) configuration — not fully original code.
Patrich's role: Author of the integration and flow adaptation.
Problem and context
Manually applying to many SEEK listings, writing a different cover letter for each one, is slow.
Audience
Personal use, for one's own job applications.
Solution
A Selenium/Chrome flow searches listings by title and location, detects if an application was already sent ('You applied'), follows Quick Apply steps, and uses the OpenAI API to generate a cover letter from the CV and job description. Login has a manual step.
Implemented scope
- Search listings by title and location
- Detection of already-submitted applications
- Quick Apply steps
- Cover letter generation via the OpenAI API
- Preconfigured answers to form questions
How I built it
The OpenAI integration (cover letter generation) is confirmed in the code. This doesn't mean the code itself was written with AI assistance — those are two different things.
Process and decisions
The README acknowledges that the Chrome configuration was adapted from a third-party bot (AIHawk); it isn't presented as fully original code.

Results
Designed for each person to run on their own machine, not as a centralized service. Patrich recorded demo videos showing the flow in action (link below); no live demo is embedded in the portfolio because it would submit real applications or call the OpenAI API (see 'Lessons').
Lessons learned
The README links a different repository name and requires a requirements.txt that isn't in the reviewed tree. It imports a keys module (src.apikeys) whose source isn't present. main.py calls a method (close_browser()) not defined in the reviewed classes. Some answers use a generic selector instead of the element matching their question. Selectors and waits are fragile and some exceptions are ignored. No real applications were run for this site, and no demo that submits applications or calls the API will be built into the portfolio.
